The
low tide this morning made for muddy water conditions and tough getting
around without getting stuck in the mud. My guest Greg Berthelot,
Leaf Schonteich, and Wayne Hill were determined to catch some Louisiana
Speckled trout. First few stops not a bite. Moved to interior lake
and picked up a few drifting. That was the pattern drifting with
chartreuse plastics and LIVE BOOGIE SHRIMP in January go figure.
The trout did not mind eating them up under our popping corks. We
caught nice trout 13 to 19 inches steady the rest of the morning
drifting until noon and left them biting. The tide was dropping all
morning and I was worried about getting the boat back on the trailer
at BSM back down ramps but it was not a problem. The guys were great
and had a blast catching trout before they headed back to South Dakota.
