My
report for Thursday the 16th.
We started out fishing close
to NAS Ingleside in the ship channel for large Black Drum. We caught
and released 4 Drum in the 20to 30lb. class. Clients took some pictures
of Drum before we released them. Then we ran towards the Shamrock
area and fished for Redfish on the backside of Mustang Island up
close to the shorelines and in cuts back into some of the lakes.
We picked up our limit of Redfish after working several cuts. Live
Shrimp under a rattle float is working very well for Redfish. We
ran over to the Intracoastal at the mouth of the big bay and freelined
shrimp and threw slow sinking suspending baits in 6 to 8 feet of
water on the drop of the channel fishing for Trout. We picked up
a few keeper Trout mixed in with several undersized Trout. I had
a Baffin trip lined our for yesterday (Friday 17th) but rescheduled
due to the strong Arctic front that pushed in yesterday morning.
There are some very solid Trout down south from the Bird Island area
all the way to just North of the Land Cut.
This is my most recent fishing report.
Good luck on your next fishing trip.
I can provide you with lists of places to
stay along the coastal bend area for your
convenience. Contact me for any additional information you may need.
