Hello Everybody,

Not very much has changed in the last two weeks. The weather overall is still cooperating with some day the high being in the 80's. The tide is still super low making red fish fairly easy however, the fish are very spooky. I had four folks from Colorado on Friday and we had our twelve keeper reds by 10:00 AM. Shrimp on the bottom is the bait of choice for me. I am fishing the first deep drop from the shallow water. Trout are also holding on shell reefs in several bays. Soft plastic is the ticket here. Drifting will produce fish however, wading is the better approach. Live shrimp under a rattling cork will produce as well. I would guess that we will still have a few cold fronts blow through, but overall fishing is great, the weather is nice, and the boat traffic is tolerable. If you find yourself with some spare the drive to the Coastal Bend is certainly worth the effort.
Until Next time: Go Fishin!

Best Regards,

Kevin
