Hello Everybody,

The weather is warming and the water has come up substantially. Overall, the water is a nice place to spend a day this time of year. I am catching very, very nice boxes of red fish in the flats using fresh dead or live shrimp. A few fish have eaten Pin Perch, but I think it is still a week or two away from finfish being reliably successful. Trout are still holding on shell reefs and are being taken with live shrimp and artificial lures. I have not been on the outside beaches in several days, but I am sure there are "some" trout holding in the sand and grass bottom.

The last two weeks of March and the first two weeks of April should see the air and water temperature rising making fishing all that much better. If you have some free time and would like to spend a day on the best fishing water of the entire Texas Coast give your favorite guide a call. I hope to see you on the water.

Until then: Go Fishin!
