Hello
Everybody, The weather has been tolerable, a tad windy, but tolerable.
There are reds in the flats eating shrimp and pin perch, and mud
minnows. The shrimp is short lived however, due to all of the baitfish
ion the water. It is getting hard to keep the shrimp on the hook.
The reds have been running in the lower to mid slot with the occasional
good fish of 27 to 28 inches. The trout are on the standard shorelines
that have bottoms of sand and grass. They are local fish not tide
runner trout. There also some good trout up shallow, but patience
and desire is the key to catching one of these. Trout are hitting
top water early, then soft plastics mid morning on. In my opinion,
color really does not matter. The bait that you have confidence in
will produce fish. My experience over the last two weeks has been
that wading is out producing any other method. We are only three
weeks away from croaker and everyone knows what that means!!! Until
next time: Go fishin!! Best Regards, Kevin "Reel" McCoy
